Which Summer Foods Can You Enjoy After Dental Implant Surgery?
Until your implants have completely healed, you should be careful when choosing your snacks and meals. Here are some delicious summer foods that you can enjoy in the meantime:
- Avocado
- Scrambled eggs
- Smoothies
- Fish
- Rice dishes
- Noodles
- Bananas
- Baked beans
Which Foods Should You Avoid After Dental Implant Surgery?
During the healing process, it is a good idea to steer clear of the following foods:
- Corn on the cob: This is the perfect side to all your barbequed favorites, but it can disturb the healing process. Cut your corn off the cob instead.
- Hot dogs: Hot dogs are full of processed saturated fat which can lead to gum inflammation and periodontal disease. Save this summer favorite for occasions.
- Sugary drinks: Soda, fruit juice, and sweet tea are all quenching, yet awful for your natural teeth. They won’t damage your replacement teeth too much, but you need strong surrounding teeth for maintaining a healthy smile.
- Hard foods: Chips, nuts, and apples can be hard on your implants during the healing process. They are best to avoid until the fusion process is complete.
What Foods Can You Enjoy After Your Implants Have Healed?
After the fusion process has taken place, you can pretty much enjoy whatever you’d like. This includes your favorite summer foods, like meat and other dishes that are more difficult to chew. If you aren’t quite sure about whether or not a food is acceptable to eat, just give your dental team a call. They’d be happy to give you advice!
After your implants have healed, you don’t need to worry about limiting your menu anymore. With just a little bit of patience, you will be enjoying all of your favorite summer dishes again in no time!
