As a kid, Dr. Aten was always naturally drawn to the sciences – he studied biology in college and then chose to pursue a career in healthcare shortly after. After earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont, Dr. Aten completed his doctorate at the University of Connecticut and then completed a General Practice Residency at St. Francis Hospital, where he was honored as the Resident of the Year. He is currently a SPEAR Study Club Leader and also has an extensive amount of advanced training under his belt, including the following:
Dr. Aten currently lives with his fiancée Heather, who works for the Burlington School District. When he isn’t busy at the dental office, his favorite hobbies include playing soccer, hiking, skiing in the winter, and fishing in the summer. In fact, if he wasn’t a dentist, being a marine biologist/sports fisherman would be his next choice.
